Several moral degradation is a crucial problem of mankind which is affecting the meaningful living of human beings. In society, morality-ensures development of the heavenly qualities like love, affection, respect and appreciation for others. It is moral values and institutions which ensure establishment of social peace, order and justice. There is no denying the fact that morality is the best virtue of mankind at any individual, social and global level. Without attaching the essence of morality, a faithful, honest and durable democratic, socio-economic, administrative and judicial institution can never be dreamt of. Social ills and vices, in most cases, occur mainly due to human activities devoid of moral senses. So, it is necessary to develop moral awareness and conscience among the world’s people irrespective of colour, religion and nationality by arranging seminars, symposia at different levels of society to motivate and encourage the people of all strata to accelerate moral uplift from their respective families to social levels.

Begum Rokeya was born in 1880 in the village of Pairabond, Rangpur district in Bangladesh. Her father Jahiruddin Muhammad Abu Ali Haider Saber was a highly educated Zaminder. Rokeya’s eldest brother Ibrahim Sabar had a great influence on her life. Rokeya wanted to study Bengali, the language of the majority in Bengal. The family disliked this because many upper class. Muslims of the time preferred to use. Arabic and Persian as the media of education. Ibrahim taught English and Bangali to Rokeya.
Rokeya married at the age of sixteen in 1896. Her husband, Khan Bahadur Shakhawat Hussain, was the Deputy Magistrate of Bhagalpur. He was very supportive to Rokeya. In 1909, Shakhawat Hussain died.She was a leading feminist writer and social worker to undivided Bengal during the early 20th century. She is most famous for her efforts on behalf of gender equality and other social issues. She established the first school primarily at Muslims girls, which still exists today. She wrote short stories and novels. Her important books are Sultana’s Dream, Padmarag. She died of heart problems on December 9, 1932. In Bangladesh, 1st December is celebrated as Rokeya day.
